Understanding the effects of work areas

The use of work areas in general and the quantity of work areas (active and inactive) specifically influences the performance of the Meridian application server. Therefore, they should be used only when required for specific business processes, and you should try to keep the number of work areas to a minimum. If the total number of work areas exceeds 100, performance issues can arise. Work areas also pose particular challenges for the assembly, subassembly, and part relationships used by solid modeling applications in some industries. For more information, see the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise User's Guide.
